Thai AirAsia adds China route
Thai AirAsia will launch a daily flight connecting Thailand’s Phuket to China’s Wuhan starting 1 February.
Thai AirAsia commercial director, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said Phuket is now one of the leading destinations for Chinese travellers to Thailand.
The new route will be launched to tap demand during Chinese New Year in early February.
Wuhan in central China is home to many tourist sites such as the Yellow Crane Tower, Butung Mountain, Tiger Spirit Shrine, the Red Cliff and the Shrine of Kuan Yu.
The new service could also help to boost trade between China and Phuket island.
“The introduction of a daily direct flight from Phuket to Wuhan should stimulate the economies of both Thailand and China by offering convenient and readily available travel.”

The airline sells a promotional one-way fare from Phuket to Wuhan at THB2,290. The fare includes airport tax. Bookings must be made by 24 January for travel from 1 February to 5 February 2017.
