Accrding to Wikipedia, Mural is a painting art on the wall. Once upon a time, people painted on paper, on silk, on canvas and even on walls. However, we have not heard anyone mention the concepts of painting only (on paper), white graphics (on silk) and layout (on canvas). Particularly, frescoes (on the wall) have their own names to call. Therefore, fresco is a special art painting method because it has a unique name, which helps spectators not to wonder with other types of painting. Nowadays, in Hanoi, there is a street with this type of art: Phung Hung Street – a new attraction to visit in Hanoi.
Phung Hung’s mural street officially put into service for the people from 3/2/2018. After nearly 2 years of operation, this place has received thousands of visitors to visit and explore.
This is also one of the community art projects with important significance in promoting culture, protecting environment, historical landscape and promoting economic development – tourism.
On this street, Vietnamese-Korean volunteer artists portrayed modern art works of art for 19 Phung Hung heritage arches. The works here aim to convey the message of a thousand-year-old capital Hanoi, which is facing great changes, but always preserves the tradition and beauty of the national cultural essence. In particular, this contributes to creating an interesting walking space – connecting heritage, art and community values.
